1. Counter Transplant Shock

One of the major problems with moving trees and shrubs is transplant shock — sometimes plants suffer tremendously and wilt. Add Epsom Salt to the bottom of the planting hole, cover it with dirt, then place the plant in. Epsom Salt helps roots recover from transplant damage and absorb nutrients better, improving their chances of survival.

2. Green Up Foliage

If your trees' and shrubs' leaves are turning yellow for no apparent reason, it may be a magnesium deficiency — an essential element that promotes chlorophyll production. Sprinkle a tablespoon of Epsom Salt around your trees and shrubs once a month to achieve healthier, greener, and more resilient foliage.

3. Prevent Leaf Curling

Curling foliage with no visible environmental cause is another sign of magnesium deficiency. Mix two tablespoons of Epsom Salt in a gallon of water and spray the affected leaves until they look perfect again. You can also spread Epsom Salt at the base of trees and shrubs to boost the roots' ability to absorb soil nutrients.

4. Sweeten Fruits

If you have fruit trees, a boost in magnesium will do them a world of good. Epsom Salt helps fruit trees and vegetables yield larger, sweeter, and more abundant fruits. It works great for nut trees and fruit shrubs as well.

5. Have More Flowers

You can "convince" flowering shrubs and trees to yield more flowers that are bigger, with more vibrant colors and more powerful scents. The added magnesium in Epsom Salt promotes chlorophyll production, which strengthens the plants' cells and leads to increased blossom and flower production.
